The Athlete

Sometimes, it is difficult to find a therapist who "speaks your language."  At Embody PT, we have over 20+ years of experience in the performance arts.  We know what an "arabesque, cabriole, and fondu" are, and we are trained to look for movement dysfunction in the dancer.

Yoga has proven to be a safe and effective way to alleviate and manage many forms of back pain and neck pain.  At Embody PT, we believe in the therapeutic benefits of yoga and utilize many poses/asana as a means of "exercise."  What is more, we have undergone teacher trainings, receiving designation as RYT 200 by Yoga Alliance, in asana and we are skilled at teaching simple postures for exercise or assisting yogis in returning to their practice safely after injury.

If you are interested in the practice of yoga (beginner) or are recovering from an injury or illness and are not sure you are “ready” for a class setting, we offer a one-on-one "yoga" evaluation with specific direction for your practice.

Yoga Evaluation & beginning program :  Functional evaluation of the whole body to determine possible weakness and/or points susceptible to injury, establishment of individualized beginning program or postures to include or exclude from practice due to current/past injuries, follow-up sessions to review program and progressions; rate upon request
