Dr. Melissa M. Powers, a graduate of the University of Florida and Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, has a passion for helping patients live pain-free. With a decade of experience, Melissa continues to be fascinated by the complexity of the musculoskeletal system and the challenge of treating various orthopedic conditions.
While completing her doctorate, she went on to finish out a year-long internship in manual therapy, receiving specialized training and mentorship in joint mobilization/manipulative treatment techniques for both spine and extremity. Her special interests lie in neck and back pain, lumbopelvic mechanical malalignments, SIJ dysfunction, femoral acetabular impingement, and acetabular labral tears as well as sport specific injuries.
Melissa finds great joy in achieving superior results with patients dealing with chronic pain or movement dysfunction, who perhaps have been unsuccessful in other PT clinics. She believes the approach to therapy, here at Embody PT, is unique in the current health care environment; seeking to work closely with patients, evaluating each injury as it relates to the entire body and the whole person.
With over 20yrs of experience as a ballet dancer and 20+ yrs as an long-distance road/trail runner, Melissa enjoys working with the performing arts community and endurance athletes. Outside of her physical therapy practice, she enjoys running marathons, cycling, hiking, practicing yoga, and SUP boarding with her amazing husband and hilarious four hounds!

Morgan "MJ" Voke
Morgan “MJ” Voke has a love for all things health and wellness! Just over two years ago, she stumbled upon a health and fitness journey that she would soon fall in love with.
MJ’s first love is with music, and she always knew the performing arts would be in her future in some capacity. She attended the SCGSAH residential program for her final two years of high school in the voice program and went on to graduate from Furman University with a B.M. in Vocal Performance where she primarily studied classical music and opera. After college, she briefly lived in Chicago where she studied improv theater at the infamous Second City. Now, MJ participates in the arts by performing in shows, short films, and commercials in the Greenville area.
MJ is obsessed with learning more about the mind-body-soul connection. She in unendingly fascinated with how food and fitness can be healing for the individual. She feels right at home in this office surrounded by likeminded well-doers who strive to help others make their lives better. Though she isn’t the one doing the healing, she’s more than happy to be the helper for these amazing physical therapists!
When MJ isn’t at work, in rehearsals for another show or writing music, she enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, long bike rides down the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and snuggling on the couch with her kitty-kid, Jorah!
